The Antidote

Former Democratic senator Sherrod Brown, who is challenging Husted, has spent millions of dollars on ads attacking Husted over his support for data centers, which the ads blame for “causing electric bills to spike by thousands of dollars.”
So based on the headline -- Senate Republicans make a final legislative push ahead of the midterms -- I thought I would read that and maybe bitch about Americans being idiots who have no idea how to vote and this being political manipulation to gather votes etc. And instead it reminded me that I have something rolling around in my mind not quite helping for this site and the two things parallel each other.

Because I want to write about the Antidote to heteronormative culture and my antidote would be a better solution to the current political drama surrounding data centers than fighting about data centers.

And it led me to the following brain dump:

My goal of destroying heternormative culture absolutely does not mean making it impossible for married heterosexual couples to live in a house in the 'burbs with a male breadwinner and housewife tending to the kids.

It means giving people other options so lives aren't ruined if for any reason they can't force fit themselves to this sole available lifestyle pattern.
It's better to say the thing you wish to say, read through it and see if it actually says the thing. Then try to let it stand on its own, KNOWING some people will misinterpret it.

Think of it as being like a colorful vase in an empty room on a pedestal with a light shining on it. It's the ONLY thing in the room. You want all eyes on THIS thing and ONLY this thing.

You do not wish to mar it by adding a zillion signs saying "THIS is NOT x, y and z." Because then it's no longer the only thing in the room.

If you spend all your time saying "I am not talking about X." well, yes, NOW you are, in fact talking about X and it's possibly all you will ever talk about. Adding that sign means the colorful vase may get no attention at all because the sign will be what people focus on.

It's not really helpful to talk about being against that pyramid of people I spoke of in my last post here that is the crux of heteronormative culture. We all already know that is falling apart and life is harder than it used to be because it's falling apart. 

Talking about being against heteronormative culture just gets people's hackles up. A LOT of people are desperately trying to figure out how to shore up the pyramid of people heteronormative culture is founded upon because to some degree they understand it's crumbling and they aren't happy with all of society crumbling and they don't have any concept of a functional alternative.

I guess I kind of stumbled into reviving this blog because a lot of my writing is about criticizing heteronormative culture and what's wrong with it and no amount of doing that will ever get us free of it, even if it's reasonable and necessary to do some of that.

And THIS site is about a mental framework for "So what DO we DO if not THAT?"

I'm already writing about The Antidote to our current insanity of trying to force fit all of society to playing their part in keeping the pyramid in place:
Project SRO talks about updating housing standards to better serve our current needs as a means to solve the housing crisis instead of remaining a slave to the suburban single family detached house as the ONLY solution CLEARLY.

Nutrient Dense talks about food culture when we no longer all assume some full-time wife and mom is the cornerstone for everything we put in our mouths and how we keep ourselves adequately nourished.

Eclogiselle has Development Recipes and trends strongly towards passive solar design and off grid solutions.

I'm not happy with the data centers eating our world currently and I'm not okay with them bleeding residential electric customers to support their abusive business model.

But IF Passive Solar Design was our norm and it was possible for MOST Americans to eat, sleep etc. comfortably without a hookup to the electric company AT ALL, then it defacto wouldn't be POSSIBLE for billionaire ASSHOLES to tell corrupt and stupid electric companies "Be my BITCH. Build my infrastructure AT YOUR expense. Get THE LITTLE PEOPLE to pay for it because they have no real CHOICE."

Legislation that would solve this would make it impossible for billionaires to do this SHIT to the people rather than seeking to mitigate the damage or bleed the people LESS or some shit.
