Education and The Weakest Link

In very poor countries, girls often miss school due to lack of feminine hygiene products. There are programs to help with that issue.
Menstrual health and hygiene are critical factors in improving education opportunities and livelihood outcomes for women, girls and people with periods worldwide.
This is probably the single easiest way to make a big impact on general education and literacy for a developing country. Literacy for moms will raise literacy for their children and will tend to lower birth rates as well.
To effectively manage their menstruation, girls and women require access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities, affordable and appropriate menstrual hygiene materials, information on good practices, and a supportive environment where they can manage menstruation without embarrassment or stigma.
Girls aren't the weaker sex. They are the weakest link because "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world" and yet we often act like women do not need rights, education, etc.
